Family

Judy Earle is a specialist family law practitioner. She conducts a wide range of cases involving children, covering both Public and Private Law applications and applications under the Family Law Act 1996. Judy's practice is predominantly based in the County Court but she also appears in the Family Proceedings Court and the High Court. She is based in Bournemouth and undertakes most of her work there but is happy to travel elsewhere on the Western Circuit.

Judy receives instructions to represent parents / other family members, step-parents, Local Authorities, Children’s Guardians and the Official Solicitor in an extensive range of children matters. Judy is committed to providing a top quality service to solicitors and clients, she prepares cases with care whether mediating and negotiating a result for her clients or handling contested matters.

Public Law

Applications: Care orders, adoption, supervision orders, special guardianship orders, emergency protection orders, secure accommodation orders, applications to discharge care order, S.38 (6) assessments, complex issues regarding disclosure and complicated finding of fact hearings.

Cases: Judy has dealt with cases involving significant harm arising from neglect, emotional abuse, physical and sexual abuse, non-accidental injuries, medico-legal issues, drug and alcohol misuse, parents with wide range of psychiatric, psychological difficulties and learning difficulties.

Private Law

Applications: Residence, contact, prohibited steps orders, specific issue orders (removal from the jurisdiction, change of surname, choice of school,) Family Law Act 1996 injunctions and committals with free standing or linked to Children Act proceedings.

Cases: Judy is often instructed in cases where a Children’s Guardian has been appointed to represent the child, where experts have been instructed, intractable contact disputes and complicated finding of fact hearings. Judy’s cases often include serious allegations of domestic violence, emotional and sexual abuse and those involving psychological and / or psychiatric issues.
