Tom joined Chambers following his successful completion of pupillage under the guidance of Hamish Dunlop, Robert Grey and Michael Norman. He is developing a busy common law practice across Chambers’ fields of expertise. He is a member of the Treasury Solicitors’ Baby Barrister Panel and is direct access qualified.

Tom demonstrated his strength as an advocate by winning both the 2010 College of Law BVC Mooting Competition and the 2010 Inter-Varsity Mooting Competition held at the Inner Temple. In the latter he successfully represented the College of Law competing against teams from 20 universities and colleges.

He benefits from 18 months experience working as a full-time paralegal in two firms of London solicitors; gaining an understanding of the practicalities of case management and solicitors’ expectations of counsel.

Prior to undertaking pupillage he spent 5 months working in the Judge’s Chambers of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (‘UNICTR’) assisting with deliberations and the drafting of judgments. He also acted as a judge in the local Tanzania rounds of the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Competition 2013.

In his spare time Tom plays badminton to county league standard and enjoys running, swimming and golf. He speaks Italian to an intermediate level as well as basic Kiswahili.
